How to study for PSLE Chinese Language Paper 2 Section A with a word list to score FULL marks.
Objective: Get 50/50 for the 25 questions in PSLE Chinese Paper 2 section A.How? You need to familiar yourself with the 600-800 words in Primary 5 and 6 New Textbook.
How to do it?Step 1, write your own word list or use a spelling list or a ciyu shouce (词语手册). I always ask my students to do one for themselves.
Step 2, Read 3-10 words daily, I mean every day choose a lucky timing to study the words, the sound, the meaning and the sentence building even the word pairs.
Step 3 Read aloud the sentences 3-7 times to trigger memories. Long term memories take over when a word is repeated 7 times or more. And short term memories work best when you remembers less than 7 items.
Step 4 repeat step 1 to 3 in 2-3 months time as revision.
After 3 months, try reading textbook passages and comprehensions and you will see improvement in word recognition.

New Word List for Primary 5 and 6 New Primary Chinese textbook
Every Year students who are taking PSLE had to make a personalized Chinese word list from their Primary 5 and 6 textbook to help them do their daily word study. So this year, I put my effort into creating such a word list so students can carry it to study those words everyday.
